PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Izaak Washington (ranked 2577 p4p, 2842 weight class) and Austin Chase (ranked 264 p4p, 281 weight class). Washington comes to the cage accompanied by 'Till I Collapse. The key to victory for Izaak Washington has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington fails with the takedown
and Chase cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Washington tries to clinch there but Chase circles away.

Washington tries a knee to the head but Chase blocks it.
Chase has Washington pressed against the cage, preventing Washington from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Chase has picked Washington up - he's going for a ride! Chase dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Washington manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Chase keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Chase throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
As Chase looks to move away, Washington throws a big counter combo but Chase just gets out of the way.

Washington drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chase wants to sweep here but Washington controlling him for the moment.
Washington is looking to work some ground and pound but Chase has wrist control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chase can do anything to dispel that myth.

Oh but Washington is tightening it up a little... Chase has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Chase reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Chase taps out! Nice BJJ there by Washington!
