Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Godfrey Lacroix (ranked 1317 p4p, 1895 weight class) and Adrian Halvorsen (ranked 134 p4p, 191 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Godfrey Lacroix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Adrian Halvorsen!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halvorsen moves away from the strike by Lacroix.
Lacroix digs a good body shot into Halvorsen's ribs.
Halvorsen tries to clinch up.
Halvorsen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lacroixs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Halvorsen blocks the body kick.
Lacroix lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Lacroix has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Halvorsen shoots in for a takedown but Lacroix shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lacroix darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Halvorsen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Godfrey Lacroix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Halvorsen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lacroix to score with a decent uppercut.

Halvorsen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lacroix is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Lacroix ducks right into an uppercut from Halvorsen.
Lacroix has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Halvorsen.
Halvorsen seems to have recovered his senses.
Halvorsen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lacroix in his tracks.
Lacroix throws a looping overhand right but Halvorsen ducks down to avoid it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Godfrey Lacroix dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Halvorsen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lacroix is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Halvorsen can do to turn this around?

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Halvorsen might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Lacroix has got the better of the exchanges.

Lacroix lands a big head kick that sends Halvorsen to the canvas! Lacroix follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
