Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keisuke Matsuzaka (ranked 465 p4p, 1517 weight class) and Ethan Hawk (ranked 64 p4p, 209 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 46 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Keisuke Matsuzaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Matsuzaka checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
The fighters circling - Hawk throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ethan Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Hawk.
Hawk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Matsuzaka blocks a head kick by Hawk.
Matsuzaka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Matsuzaka keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hawk tries a head kick but it misses.
Matsuzaka throwing a counter right hand but Hawk manages to avoid it.
Matsuzaka buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Matsuzaka takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Matsuzaka takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hawk throws a sloppy body shot
and Hawk takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hawk misses with a leg kick
letting Matsuzaka counter with a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matsuzaka throws a push kick but Hawk slaps the foot to one side.
Hawk pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hawk throws a sloppy head kick
and Matsuzaka counters with a nice uppercut.
Hawk swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matsuzaka connects with a right hand. Hawk shakes it off.
Hawk throws a jab when Matsuzaka was well out of range.

Hawk throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Matsuzaka's head.
Hawk takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Matsuzaka connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hawk gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Matsuzaka.
Hawk moves away from the strike by Matsuzaka.
Hawk throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Matsuzaka to counter with a crisp jab.
Matsuzaka misses with a hook
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Matsuzaka moves out of range as Hawk throws a body kick.
A head kick by Hawk misses
and Matsuzaka counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Matsuzaka swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Matsuzaka works Hawk's body with a nice hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hawk has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hawk ducks right into an uppercut from Matsuzaka.
Hawk takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Matsuzaka connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Hawk is rocked!
Matsuzaka scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hawk in his tracks.
Hawk is still on wobbly legs! Can Matsuzaka finish him?
Matsuzaka lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hawk walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Matsuzaka digs a good hook to Hawk's body.
Hawk moves away from the strike by Matsuzaka.
The fighters circle momentarily. Matsuzaka darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hawk sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Matsuzaka scores with a body shot.
Hawk looks winded!

Matsuzaka connects with a leg kick.
Matsuzaka scores with a hook to the body. Hawk takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Hawk throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

and Matsuzaka counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hawk misses with a body punch
and Matsuzaka counters with a huge left! Hawk is in big trouble! He's backing up but Matsuzaka isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Hawk from any more damage. A dominating finish by Matsuzaka!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Keisuke Matsuzaka!
Keisuke Matsuzaka decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Ethan Hawk was interviewed post fight and said 'In the end he fought like a 'Gentleman', true to his nickname, respecting his mate's money maker.'.
