Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Li Gong (ranked 998 p4p, 1153 weight class) and Okon Igwe (ranked 98 p4p, 119 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Igwe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gong misses with a looping right.
Gong looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Gong connects with a solid leg kick.
Igwe drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Gong ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Igwe moves away.

Gong got a little sloppy there for a moment and Igwe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gong has managed to get both his arms back between Igwe's legs - danger averted.
Igwe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Igwe is looking to cinch up a triangle. Gong throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Igwe's body to avoid the submission. Igwe has instead reached around Gong's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Igwe arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Okon Igwe!
