Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 120 - 27 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 127 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Fighter B dives in for a single leg takedown but Fighter A sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Fighter B shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter A tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter B keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter A manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fighter B shoots in for a double leg but Fighter A sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Xxx Xxx has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xxx Xxx. A head kick misses from Fighter B.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter A connects with a leg kick. A momentary lapse in concentration from Fighter A enables Fighter B to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fighter A manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fighter A holds on and takes a little breather. Fighter B throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter B loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Fighter B in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fighter A controlling Fighter B's posture. Fighter B is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Fighter A has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Fighter B is looking to defend but Fighter A has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Fighter B! Fighter A pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Fighter B taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Xxx Xxx!
