The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Judo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Judo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looks like Fish Judo has been cut.

and Carwin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Judo's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carwin wants to control from the top but Judo keeps moving.
Judo wants to stand and escape but Carwin is having none of it.
Carwin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Judo's head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carwin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Carwin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Judo won't be happy with that.
Carwin wants to control but Judo is keeping him busy.

Carwin decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Carwin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Judo as he jumps to the side.

Judo jumps guard and drags Carwin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Carwin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Judo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Judo tries to get out of the position.

Carwin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Judo wants to stand but Carwin is controlling the position.
Carwin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Horrible takedown by Judo or perhaps it was just good defense by Carwin which made him look bad.
Fish Judo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carwin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Judo is not content to let Carwin control the position.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Judo has hold of Carwin's hands but Carwin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Shane Carwin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Judo is staying active underneath Carwin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
