Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Albatross (ranked 40 p4p, 67 weight class) and Paulo Roberto (ranked 4 p4p, 7 weight class). Roberto has chosen Samba de Roda as his entrance music. Paulo Roberto told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albatross throws a body punch but Roberto moves out of range.
Albatross jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Roberto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Albatross looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Roberto misses the jab.
Albatross throwing a counter right hand but Roberto manages to avoid it.
We've been informed that Roberto has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Albatross throws a chopping leg kick but Roberto manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Albatross throws a hook but Roberto avoids it easily.
Albatross gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Roberto rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Albatross counters with a thumping low kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Albatross tries to bum rush Roberto with a series of wild strikes but Roberto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Paulo Roberto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Albatross looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Roberto leaves his chin hanging out and Albatross seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Roberto crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
