The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Laperierre gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Burroughs (2) vs (0) Laperierre Laperierre looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Burroughs puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Burroughs slows the pace down in half guard. Laperierre trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Burroughs manages to pass to mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laperierre is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Laperierre can't escape the position.

Burroughs controlling his opponent. Burroughs seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laperierre for as long as he can get away with. Laperierre tries to improve his position but Burroughs has taken his back! Burroughs has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Laperierre tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Burroughs pushes Laperierre away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
