Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 131 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 124 - 27 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Fighter A shoots in for a double leg but Fighter B sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Fighter A closes the distance and clinches. Fighter B has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fighter A clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Fighter A tries to escape but Fighter B has the hooks in and won't let him break free. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fighter B biding his time, looking for the opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter B avoiding Fighter A 's attempts to control his hands. Fighter B biding his time, controlling Fighter A. Fighter A is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Fighter B avoiding Fighter A 's attempts to control his hands. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Fighter B is not going to allow Fighter A to sit and survive in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter B slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Fighter B gets his hands free as Fighter A looks to control. Fighter B biding his time, controlling Fighter A.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fighter B avoiding Fighter A 's attempts to control his hands. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Xxx Xxx dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Fighter A closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fighter B circles away. Fighter B throws a counter combo. Fighter B defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fighter A. Fighter B closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fighter A is trying to control Fighter B's posture but Fighter B avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter A dodges the ground and pound from Fighter B. Xxx Xxx has got the better of the ground game so far. Fighter A can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fighter A scores with a spinning back kick!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Fighter B shoots for a takedown but Fighter A saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. It appears Fighter A was looking to counter with a kick there. Fighter A tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fighter B defends well and Fighter A ends up having to push Fighter B into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A countering left hand to the body from Fighter B misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xxx Xxx. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fighter A has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Fighter B after a bit of a struggle. Fighter B prevents a takedown attempt there.
Fighter B has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fighter A avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter A goes for a takedown attempt but Fighter B pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fighter B gets the takedown into side control. Fighter A wants to control but Fighter B postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fighter A is looking for a sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fighter A on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Fighter B working away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Xxx Xxx showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fighter A is defended easily by Fighter B. Fighter B counters with a body kick. Fighter A fails to land the takedown. Despite the aggression on Fighter B's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fighter A fails with the takedown. Fighter B follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xxx Xxx. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter B shoots in and drives through. Fighter A sprawls well. Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it. Fighter A fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fighter B avoids it really well and circles away. Fighter B replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Fighter A blocks it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fighter A shoots in but Fighter B avoids the takedown attempt easily. Fighter A shoots in and drives through. Fighter B sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fighter A. Fighter B closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter B keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Fighter B tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fighter A knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Fighter B has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Fighter B throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Fighter A controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fighter A is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Fighter B trying to control the pace. Xxx Xxx has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Xxx Xxx is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Fighter B is continuing to stall.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Xxx Xxx comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Fighter B winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
