PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaycee Veto (ranked 1877 p4p, 4101 weight class) and Gabriel Havran (ranked 217 p4p, 420 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Gabriel Havran!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havran throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Jaycee Veto has been cut.
Havran misses with a lunging right hand
and Veto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Gabriel Havran has been cut.
Veto misses the shot to the body.
Havran swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Veto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Veto has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Torcida MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Havran misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Veto thuds a left hand into Havran's body.
Havran connects with a crisp jab.
Havran scores with a jab. Veto acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Veto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Havran swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Veto.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Havran looks to score with a jab to the body but Veto is just out of range.
Gabriel Havran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Havran bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Havran misses with a right hand
and Veto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Havran scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Veto bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Veto waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Havran.
Havran has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Havran throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Veto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Havran tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Veto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Veto will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Havran lands a nice shot that snaps Veto's head back.

Jaycee Veto's cut is getting worse.
Havran gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Havran, as that shot connected.
Havran cracks Veto with a good jab.
Havran tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Veto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That has opened up Gabriel Havran's cut even more.
Havran has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Veto finds it's way round the side to connect with Havran's head.
Veto with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Havran moves to clinch but Veto breaks away
and Veto counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Veto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Havran.
Havran swings away with a body shot that misses

and Veto counters with a nice right hand that sends Havran toppling to the canvas! Havran scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Veto finish him?!

Havran is rocked!

The cut above Gabriel Havran's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Havran stuns Veto with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Havran throws a jab but it's blocked by Veto.
Havran throws a hook but Veto blocks it.
Veto appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Veto drops Havran with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Havran looks back up at him and smiles so Veto waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Havran is still on wobbly legs! Can Veto finish him?

Gabriel Havran's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gabriel Havran's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jaycee Veto!
A very excited looking Jaycee Veto made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
