Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chike Obi (ranked 1990 p4p, 2185 weight class) and Oliver Francis (ranked 197 p4p, 211 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chike Obi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Oliver Francis!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Francis.
Francis with a nice cross.
Obi gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Obi tries to pull guard but Francis holds him up against the cage and eventually Obi drops back down to his feet.
Obi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Francis smiles and moves away.
Obi clinches.
Francis lands with a light punch inside.
Obi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chike Obi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Francis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Francis throws a looping overhand right but Obi ducks down to avoid it.
Obi on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Francis throws a half hearted mid kick.
Obi forces Francis back against the cage and clinches.
I was talking to Obi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Obi tries to pull guard but Francis won't allow it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Obi breaks the clinch.
Obi connects with a body shot.
Francis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Francis tests Obi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Obi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Obi misses with a hook
and Francis counters with a thumping low kick.
Nice shot lands for Obi.
Obi pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Obi cracks Francis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Francis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Francis circles away from the clinch attempt
and Francis counters with a crisp one two that drops Obi! Francis thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Obi to his feet! Obi is in big trouble!
Obi is rocked!
Obi tries to clinch up.
Francis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Francis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Obi's elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Francis tries to throw a body punch but Obi avoids it by throwing Francis back against the cage.
Obi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Obi drops his hands momentarily and Francis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Oh Obi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Crack! A monster head kick from Francis and Obi falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Francis!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Oliver Francis!
After winning the bout, Oliver Francis thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
