Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edwin Irving!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyojin Rikishi!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irving throws a front kick aimed at Rikishi's knee but Rikishi avoids it well.
Irving throws a leg kick but Rikishi moved away.
Rikishi with a poor takedown
and Rikishi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Irving stuffs the takedown attempt from Rikishi. Rikishi gets slowly back to his feet.

Irving moves into the clinch.
Irving doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A short uppercut from Irving.
Irving throws a head punch that misses.
Irving lands with a left to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rikishi jumps guard and drags Irving to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rikishi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Irving working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Irving wants to control from the top but Rikishi keeps moving.
Irving is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rikishi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rikishi is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Irving presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
A head punch on the inside from Irving fails to land.
Rikishi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Irving lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Rikishi.
Rikishi looks winded!
Irving goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A body shot lands from Irving.
A nice left hand lands by Irving.
Irving stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Nice body punch from Irving.
Irving lands a right hand that snaps the head of Rikishi backwards.

Rikishi is rocked!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Irving creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rikishi is still on wobbly legs! Can Irving finish him?
Irving throws a big uppercut that drops Rikishi! More strikes from Irving and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rikishi lies dazed against the cage as Irving celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edwin Irving!
