Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michel Santos (ranked 1045 p4p, 2278 weight class) and Matthew Murray (ranked 111 p4p, 226 weight class). Santos comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Intro. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michel Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matthew Murray! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice straight punches there by Santos. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Santos. Santos looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Santos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Murray wants to clinch. Santos looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Murray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murray wants to stand up but Santos is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Murray is looking to stand up but Santos isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Santos misses with a low kick. Santos fails with a takedown attempt. Santos with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Murray to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Michel Santos has been cut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michel Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Murray slips a straight right by Santos. Santos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Murray moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Santos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Murray circles away quickly and effectively. Murray only half commits to the counter leg kick. Matthew Murray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos throws a leg kick and Murray counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Murray throws a hook to the side of Santos's head but Santos sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. As Murray looks to move away, Santos throws a big counter combo but Murray just gets out of the way. Murray throws a body shot but no joy. Santos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murray looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Murray throws Santos to one side and escapes! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Santos avoids the head kick by Murray.
Santos was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Santos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Santos with a lazy takedown attempt and Murray connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Santos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murray tries to avoid it but Santos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murray to the ground. Murray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Santos darts in and clinches Murray up against the cage. Santos throws a head punch that misses. Murray lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Santos lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Santos throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murray manages to break the clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Santos. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Santos. Santos has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Murray. Santos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Murray throws out the jab. Murray tries a head kick but it misses.
Santos drops down looking for a counter takedown but Murray sprawls and moves away. Santos dips to his left and cracks Murray with an uppercut! Santos throws a jab when Murray was well out of range. Santos backing away here, and Murray unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Murray pivots, looking for a leg kick but Santos is out of range and Murray settles back down. Nice shot lands for Murray.
Santos is rocked! Santos lands with a hook. Murray tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Oh Santos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Murray pounces like a tiger and cracks Santos with a vicious hook! Santos is down but not out! Murray follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
