With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonidas Vidalotis!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vidalotis defending well as Simons loads up on a big left hand.
Vidalotis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Simons.
Vidalotis tries to clinch but Simons moves out of range.
Simons lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Leonidas Vidalotis has been cut.
A left lands for Vidalotis.
Simons moves out of range as Vidalotis throws a body kick.

Simons looks to land a combination but Vidalotis avoids it well.

Vidalotis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Vidalotis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Simons manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vidalotis has Simons in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vidalotis wants to sweep here but Simons controlling him for the moment.
Vidalotis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Simons is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Simons feints a jab promting Vidalotis to slip. Simons then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Vidalotis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That has opened up Leonidas Vidalotis's cut even more.
Simons has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Simons there as he acknowledges the shot.

Vidalotis throws a body shot but no joy.
Vidalotis clinches up against the cage.
We've been informed that Vidalotis has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Still in the clinch, Vidalotis scores with a nice short uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Simons misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Simons throws a head punch that misses.
Vidalotis is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Simons is keeping busy.
Simons prevents the takedown attempt.
Vidalotis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vidalotis looks to score with a jab to the body but Simons is just out of range.
Simons swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Simons swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Simons lands a left and a right that send Vidalotis crashing to the mat, dazed. Simons thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Vidalotis backs away from a small jab... but Simons lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Vidalotis crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Simons with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Russ Simons!
After winning the bout, Russ Simons thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
