Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zane Kwon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kian Silverstone! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silverstone drops his hands momentarily and Kwon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kwon throws a leg kick and Silverstone counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kwon won't be happy with that. Silverstone thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kwon is not content to let Silverstone control the position. Silverstone is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kwon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silverstone tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kwon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silverstone on the ground. Kwon wants to get back to his feet. Silverstone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silverstone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Silverstone has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Elite Combat Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Kwon is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silverstone works to advance to full mount. Kwon defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Silverstone looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Kwon is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Silverstone has isolated one of Kwon's arms. Kwon looking to fight him off but Silverstone twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kian Silverstone! Kian Silverstone tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
