Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 23343 p4p, 23360 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 45 - 62 - 13, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 63 - 53 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Mibangon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Buut to score an easy takedown into full guard. Mibangon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Buut being controlled here momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Buut has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like Buut might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Buut fails to land the takedown. And Mibangon counters with a quick kick to the body but Buut blocks it. Mibangon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buut's waist but Buut gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mibangon off to one side. Buut gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mibangon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut pulls Mibangon in close to prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mibangon preventing the sweep. Mibangon's corner is telling him to maintain position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That round was too close to call. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mibangon enables Buut to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mibangon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Mibangon looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mibangon pulls Buut in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mibangon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mibangon working a defensive guard here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Mibangon scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Buut is not content to let Mibangon control the position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mibangon looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Buut is avoiding damage well.
Buut is trying to escape the position but Mibangon is controlling the position. Buut is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Buut is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mibangon is looking to take a break and control but Buut is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Buut tries to improve position but can't.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Buut looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mibangon is fending him off so far but Buut persists. Nope, Mibangon circles away and we're back to standing. Mibangon thinks about countering with a body kick. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mibangon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Minatay Mibangon dominated that second round. That's time! Mibangon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Mibangon slaps away a takedown attempt from Buut, before circling back to the center of the mat. As Buut backs away, Mibangon returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Mibangon stuffs the takedown attempt from Buut. Buut gets slowly back to his feet. Mibangon appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mibangon moves out of range of the body kick from Buut.
Mibangon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Buut looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mibangon is fending him off so far but Buut persists. Nope, Mibangon circles away and we're back to standing. Minatay Mibangon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut.

Buut is trying to counter with his kicks. Buut leaves Mibangon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Buut now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Buut will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. It appears Mibangon was looking to counter with a kick there. Mibangon looks to land a body kick but Buut moved away.

Mibangon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mibangon trying to control the position but Buut is working away. Buut is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut being controlled for a moment. Buut controls the position for a moment. Buut is letting Mibangon control him for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Buut struggling a bit here. Mibangon is looking to take a break and control but Buut is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mibangon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Minatay Mibangon. Well Mibangon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
