Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Soo Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Donnie Jones!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son cracks Jones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Son tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Son gets the takedown into side control.
Jones wants to control but Son postures up.
Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jones works his way to full guard. Good work.
Jones is trying to keep Son in close.
Son pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.
Son definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Jones has his foot on Son's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Son works his way back into a safe position though.

Son got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Son has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Son defends it easily.

Son keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Son wants to stand and escape but instead Jones has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jones throws an elbow that misses. Son uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jones's guard. Nice move by Son!

Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Son is aware though and is defending well.
Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Son is proving a slippery customer.
Son is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.
Son throws a big elbow that misses.

Son avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Son gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Son wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Jones looking for subs off his back but Son has passed one foot through into half guard.

Son is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jones is pressing down on Son's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Son defends well.

Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Son has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Son wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Son knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Donnie Jones dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Son wants to get back to his feet but Jones passes into half guard.

Son wants to get back to full guard but Jones has mounted him!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Son because Jones loaded up on that one.
Son on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Son tries to get out of the position.

Jones working for a guillotine from mount but Son is in no mood to give up.
Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Son is looking to escape.

Jones goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Son turns into him and now he's in Jones's guard.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Son pushes his legs off easily.
Jones has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Jones is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Son rolls with it to try and escape but Jones cranks on the arm and Son is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
