Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Brown (ranked 1311 p4p, 3328 weight class) and Hiyness Da Prince (ranked 171 p4p, 373 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Gloom, Doom, Heartache and Whiskey. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hiyness Da Prince! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown drops his hands momentarily and Da Prince takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Nice shot by Da Prince. Brown looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Da Prince tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brown was well out of range. Poor timing from Da Prince. Da Prince lands a jab to the nose. Da Prince ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brown moves away. Da Prince throws a looping overhand right but Brown ducks down to avoid it. Brown swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Da Prince throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brown forces Da Prince back against the cage and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da Prince throws a punch but it's blocked by Brown. Brown softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Da Prince fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Brown gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Da Prince regains guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Da Prince swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown stopping the sweep attempt from Da Prince. Da Prince really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brown trying to control but Da Prince is working from the bottom. Da Prince is adopting a defensive guard. Brown wants to control from the top but Da Prince keeps moving. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Brown stays in close to Da Prince's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Da Prince stuffs the takedown. Da Prince now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Da Prince throws an overhand right that lands on Brown's shoulder, as Brown tries to avoid the shot. A big right from Brown misses. Brown looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hiyness Da Prince is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Da Prince lands with an uppercut that bounces Brown off the cage and back into range. Da Prince takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Brown chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Da Prince can pounce on him.
Da Prince throws a hook but Brown blocks it. Da Prince walks into a jab. Brown keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brown tries for a takedown but Da Prince sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Da Prince keeps Brown at a distance using the push kick. Brown thows a left - swing and a miss! Brown gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Da Prince. Da Prince cracks Brown with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Brown lands a right hook to the body.
Brown cracks Da Prince with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Da Prince tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Brown pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Da Prince is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Brown! Our winner, Frank Brown, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
