Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Sawyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Sisk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sawyer comes to the cage accompanied by Tom Sawyer by Rush. John Sisk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Sawyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Sisk!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sawyer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sawyer just misses with a punch to the body.
Sawyer moves in looking to clinch but Sisk pushes him off.

Sawyer has closed the distance and engaged Sisk in a clinch.

Sawyer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Sisk looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sisk has his foot on Sawyer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sawyer works his way back into a safe position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sawyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sawyer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Sisk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sawyer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sawyer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sawyer is in close to Sisk's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Sisk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sawyer manages to get himself to full guard.

Sisk is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sawyer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sisk to the mat. Sisk regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Sisk wants to improve his position but Sawyer is controlling well.

Sisk throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sawyer escapes and throws Sisk's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Sawyer lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sisk down.

Sisk takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sisk is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sawyer off and has taken his back!
Sisk seems to have recovered his senses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sisk is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sawyer is defending well though. Sisk let's go of the attempt for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Sawyer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sisk's guard.

Sisk drops back looking for a leg! Sawyer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sawyer manages to kick Sisk off! Sisk jumps back into Sawyer's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Sawyer closes the distance and clinches.
Sawyer wants a takedown.
Sawyer is pressed up against the cage. Sisk has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sawyer down to the mat. Sawyer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
John Sisk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sawyer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sisk has his takedown stuffed

and Sawyer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sawyer lands a couple of elbows.
Sisk wants to sweep here but Sawyer controlling him for the moment.
Sawyer wants to pass the guard but Sisk is keeping the position.
