And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Nick Santorino!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Santorino closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Santorino wants a takedown but no success here.

Santorino ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Santorino no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Chase avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Chase trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Chase showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Chase is fighting to break Santorino's control of his arms but Santorino is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santorino escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chase gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Santorino is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santorino is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chase defends well.

Santorino looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Santorino controls Chase momentarily but Chase frees himself.
Santorino looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chase is one step ahead there.
Santorino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chase. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chase wants to control from the top but Santorino keeps moving.

Chase trying to control the position from guard on top but Santorino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santorino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chase doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chase manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Chase wants to control from the top but Santorino keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Santorino can do anything to dispel that myth.

Chase stands and throws Santorino's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Chase has the hooks in. Santorino is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Chase is looking for the choke from the back position but Santorino is controlling his hands well.

Chase is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Santorino is defending well though. Chase let's go of the attempt for now.
Santorino looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Chase is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Santorino won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Chase off his unconscious opponent!
