PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between TW GC (ranked 3409 p4p, 3834 weight class) and Ethan Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walters has chosen Shepard Of Fire as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, TW GC!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ethan Walters!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from GC misses.

GC shoots in and bounces Walters off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Walters bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in GC's guard.

Walters tries to free his leg and advance position but GC is retaining full guard.

GC looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
GC will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

GC throws his legs up looking for a submission but Walters uses it to pass to side control.

GC throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
GC is looking for a sweep.
GC tries to escape but Walters is in control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
GC knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walters on the ground.

Walters decides to stand back up. Walters steps back and let's GC get back to his feet.

GC looks to land a left hand but Walters moved out of range nicely.

Walters is looking for a sweep. GC is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
GC thows a huge punch but Walters dodges it nicely.

GC takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Walters is looking to control GC's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Walters avoid being mounted?

GC looking for a submission but Walters manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that TW GC will probably get the nod.

Walters is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but GC pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
GC throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Walters slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Walters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. GC gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Walters doesn't manage to clinch there - GC circles away.
As Walters looks to move away, GC throws a big counter combo but Walters just gets out of the way.

GC closes the distance and pushes Walters back into the cage.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. GC lands a nice short elbow.

Well GC has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
