Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vance Patrick (ranked 2245 p4p, 1102 weight class) and Ken Shamrock (ranked 267 p4p, 144 weight class). Shamrock has chosen Dangerous Entrance Theme as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vance Patrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ken Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Shamrocks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Patrick stuns Shamrock with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Shamrock tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Shamrock takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Patrick definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

It looked like Patrick was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shamrock.

Shamrock has Patrick pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Patrick manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Shamrock swings around for an armbar but Patrick sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Shamrock's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Shamrock has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Patrick postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Patrick is looking to take a break and control but Shamrock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vance Patrick.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Patrick, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
