Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marilo Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Bergkamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bergkamp is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Dennis Bergkamp Song. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bergkamp misses with the combination.
Rua closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bergkamp circles away.
Bergkamp circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rua fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bergkamp scores a takedown into full mount!
Bergkamp tries to control but Rua wriggling away.
Bergkamp throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rua because Bergkamp loaded up on that one.
Bergkamp swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rua is now in Bergkamp's guard. A big mistake from Bergkamp there, giving up the dominant position!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Bergkamp shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rua's guard.
Bergkamp is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bergkamp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rua swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bergkamp wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.

Rua can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bergkamp controls the pace.

Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bergkamp swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Bergkamp counters with a shoot takedown. Rua fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Despite being in the dominant position, Dennis Bergkamp just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rua is letting Bergkamp control him for a moment.

Dennis Bergkamp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Rua dives in and grabs Bergkamp's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bergkamp pushes down on Rua's head and hops out.

and Bergkamp counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Rua has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bergkamp is working away from the top position though.

Bergkamp sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rua's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Bergkamp has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
