Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ippo Takamura!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Takamura.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Takamura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Janus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Janus is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Takamura to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Takamura shrugs it off.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Janus postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Takamura badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Janus around the waist but Janus pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Janus is the winner by TKO! Janus jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hugh Janus!

Our winner, Hugh Janus, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
