The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz walks into a jab.
Nogueira scores with a jab to the jaw.
Nogueira moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Nogueira fails to land with a series of punches.

Ortiz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nogueira sprawls well initially but Ortiz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Nogueira is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ortiz pulls his head out easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nogueira scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Ortiz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Nogueira misses with a takedown attempt - Ortiz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Nogueira decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ortiz's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ortiz is on top in guard.
Ortiz stands and throws Nogueira's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Nogueira is trying to get back to half guard.
Ortiz advances to full mount.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nogueira tries to reverse the position but Ortiz maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nogueira is working hard here to advance position.
Ortiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nogueira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ortiz breaks from Nogueira's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Nogueira tries to reverse the position but Ortiz maintains control.

Ortiz lands with some strikes.
Nogueira bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Ortiz controls Nogueira momentarily but Nogueira frees himself.

Nogueira postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ortiz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nogueira, into his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tito Ortiz dominated that round.

Ortiz misses with a takedown

and Nogueira decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ortiz's guard.
Ortiz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Nogueira drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Nogueira as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Ortiz screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Nogueira! Nice submission victory there!
