Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23344 p4p, 23250 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 40 - 80 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 59 - 52 - 13, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Kiang shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sapi defends it nicely. Sapi shoots in but no luck this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sapi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kiang preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Kiang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sapi is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Sapi seems content to control. Kiang wants to control but Sapi is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. It looks like Sapi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sapi shoots in but no luck this time. Kiang jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Sapi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kiang. Sapi is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi tries for a takedown but Kiang sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kiang quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wala Sapi. Sapi shoots in but Kiang avoids the takedown attempt easily. It appears Kiang was looking to counter with a kick there. Kiang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sapi appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kiang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sapi is trying to get back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kiang lands strikes from half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Wala Sapi will probably get the nod. That's time! Kiang's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Sapi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kiang as he avoids it easily. Kiang went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Nice takedown defense from Kiang. No joy for Sapi on that attempt. Kiang changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Kiang fails with the takedown. Sapi thinks about the counter body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sapi shoots in but no luck this time. Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wala Sapi. Nice takedown defense from Sapi. No joy for Kiang on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kiang is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kiang seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sapi for as long as he can get away with. Kiang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sapi can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sapi has his hands clasped together around Kiang's back. He's all about the action. Kiang thows a huge punch but Sapi dodges it nicely.
Still in half guard, Kiang seems content to control. Kiang is thwarting Sapi's attempts to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sapi circles away. Sapi is looking for the big counter here. Sapi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kiang to the mat! Kiang manages to get full guard. Kiang trying to keep a closed guard but Sapi is proving a slippery customer.
Sapi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiang pulls Sapi in close to his closed guard and prevents Sapi from doing any damage or advancing position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sapi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sapi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Yawa Kiang will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Sapi fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sapi thuds his shin into the meat of Kiang's side. Sapi shoots in but Kiang avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sapi gets the takedown into side control. Kiang bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sapi is trying to defend but Kiang finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kiang landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kiang controlling the action here. Sapi is trying to control but can't.
Kiang is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sapi is just riding it out for now. Kiang eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kiang is working away from the top position though. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Still in half guard, Kiang seems content to control.

Sapi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sapi being controlled here momentarily.
And that's the end of the fight! Yawa Kiang showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kiang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
