Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edgar Estrada (ranked 3846 p4p, 4658 weight class) and Jack Mondale (ranked 0 p4p, 479 weight class). Mondale is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad to the Bone. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgar Estrada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Mondale! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Estrada wants to break the clinch but can't.
Estrada has Mondale pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mondale manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Mondale's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Estrada tries to clinch there but Mondale circles away.
Estrada displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mondale. Mondale shoots in looking for a takedown but Estrada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mondale's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Estrada tries to counter with a takedown but Mondale is quick to defend against it. Estrada throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mondale was covering up waiting for the punch and Estrada finishes the takedown easily into guard. Estrada working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mondale keeping moving, preventing Estrada from controlling successfully. Estrada gets to his feet. Mondale looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's one minute gone in the round. Estrada shoots and misses enabling Mondale to counter with a crisp jab. Estrada darts in trying to clinch and Mondale counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mondale misses with a head kick.
Estrada fails to land with a series of punches.
Estrada shoots in and drives through. Mondale sprawls well. Mondale tries to counter by closing the distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edgar Estrada. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Mondale.
Mondale dives in and grabs Estrada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Estrada pushes down on Mondale's head and hops out. Estrada fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estrada's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mondale connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Estrada scrambles back to his feet. Mondale moves into range and clinches up with Estrada. Mondale is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mondale lands a knee to the body.
Mondale breaks the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Estrada tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mondale swats him away and circles back towards the center. Estrada closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mondale circles away. Estrada tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mondale forces Estrada back against the cage and clinches. Mondale jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Estrada walks away with a smile on his face. Mondale gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Estrada closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Estrada working the ground and pound. Mondale tries to control but Estrada manages to take his back. Estrada is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Estrada is breathing heavily. Estrada is hanging on to Mondale's back as he tries to escape.
Estrada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mondale looking very determined here, making life difficult for Estrada.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Estrada throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Estrada avoiding Mondale 's attempts to control his hands. Mondale is trying to break free.
Estrada looking for the choke from the back. Estrada is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mondale is defending well though. Estrada let's go of the attempt for now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mondale is really stuck here.

A close round but Jack Mondale will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Estrada darts in trying to clinch and Mondale counters with a stiff right hand. Mondale misses with a head kick.
Mondale rushes Estrada and presses him up against the cage. Estrada tries to score a body lock takedown but Mondale shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Mondale breaks the clinch.
Mondale catches Estrada with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Estrada scores with a one two! Mondale had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Jack Mondale has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice takedown defense from Estrada. No joy for Mondale on that attempt. Mondale looks for a takedown but Estrada sprawls well. Estrada swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mondale counters with a body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estrada feints and as Mondale raises his hands in defense, Estrada changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mondale pushes Estrada off and scrambles back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Horrible takedown attempt by Estrada or perhaps it was just good defense by Mondale, which made it look bad. Mondale shoots in for a takedown but Estrada shows good takedown defense. Edgar Estrada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Mondale. Mondale clinches with his opponent.
Estrada is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mondale is defending well. Mondale connects with a knee to the head.
Estrada gets control of Mondale's arms and successfully pulls guard. Estrada will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Estrada throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Mondale won't allow Estrada to sweep him here. Estrada being controlled here, momentarily. Mondale postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Estrada working for a triangle but Mondale defends it easily.
Estrada had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mondale defends it easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Mondale lands a head kick!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Estrada with a lazy takedown attempt and Mondale counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mondale. Mondale pulls Estrada into guard.
Mondale is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jack Mondale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jack Mondale's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Mondale rushes Estrada and presses him up against the cage. Mondale has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mondale has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Estrada after a bit of a struggle. Mondale breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mondale lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Estrada at a distance.
Estrada changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mondale looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Estrada throws an elbow but Mondale slips to the side and avoids it well. Estrada stands up and we're back to a striking position. A head kick misses from Mondale. Mondale takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mondale stuffs the takedown attempt from Estrada. Estrada gets slowly back to his feet. Mondale doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Mondale blocks a head kick by Estrada.
Mondale looks to land a body kick but Estrada moved away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mondale. Mondale shoots in but no luck this time. Estrada is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Mondale. Edgar Estrada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Mondale. Estrada goes for a double leg but Mondale avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mondale continues to drive forward. Estrada gets control of Mondale's arms and successfully pulls guard. Estrada will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Edgar Estrada overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Estrada has control of Mondale's left arm, preventing Mondale from doing any damage. Estrada looking for a guillotine here but Mondale defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mondale showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estrada wants to sweep here but Mondale controlling him for the moment. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mondale trying to control the position from guard on top but Estrada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mondale fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Estrada misses with a takedown attempt - Mondale sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mondale clinches up against the cage. Mondale tries to pull guard but Estrada won't allow it.

Mondale wants to sweep here but Estrada controlling him for the moment. Estrada wants to control from the top but Mondale keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Estrada is looking to work some ground and pound but Mondale has wrist control. Mondale preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Estrada throws a big elbow that misses. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Estrada stands up from guard. Let's bang! Edgar Estrada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jack Mondale is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mondale displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Estrada.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jack Mondale. I've got Mondale winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
