Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jarran Yagan (ranked 5375 p4p, 2863 weight class) and Baptiste Michaud (ranked 482 p4p, 341 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jarran Yagan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jarran Yagan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Baptiste Michaud!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Michaud. Those never looked like landing.
Michaud throws a head kick that misses
and Michaud takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Baptiste Michaud has been cut.

It looked like Yagan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Michaud does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Michaud pivots, looking for a leg kick but Yagan is out of range and Michaud settles back down.
It looked like Yagan was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Michaud.
Nice body punch from Michaud.
Michaud throws the kick towards the body but Yagan avoids it.
An attempted straight right counter from Yagan misses the target.
Michaud throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Michaud lands a head kick. Yagan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Baptiste Michaud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Yagan lands a stunning uppercut that sends Michaud to the mat!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Michaud is not content to let Yagan control the position.

Michaud looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Michaud can do anything to dispel that myth.
Michaud wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Michaud's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Michaud is controlling Yagan's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yagan wants to control from the top but Michaud keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Michaud scores with a one two! Yagan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Yagan counters with a crisp right that sends Michaud to the canvas! Yagan follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
