Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tap Out (ranked 4880 p4p, 5161 weight class) and Cedric Velez (ranked 294 p4p, 299 weight class). Tap Out could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Cedric Velez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tap Out!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cedric Velez!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velez tries to clinch up but Out circles away and keeps his distance.

Out manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Velez on his heels. He'll look to pass Velez's guard now, I'm sure.
Velez keeping moving, preventing Out from controlling successfully.
Velez wants to sweep but no luck.
Velez is looking to sweep but instead, Out has passed into half guard.
Velez tries to kick Out off but Out keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Velez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Out trying to pass the guard but Velez defending well.
Velez is refusing to be controlled, as Out sits in half guard.

Out is looking for a kimura but Velez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Out to get the leverage.
Velez is not content to let Out control the position.

Velez kicks off Out and gets to his feet.
Out tries to close the distance and clinch up but Velez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Velez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Out tries to score a power double leg takedown but Velez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Out somewhat.
Nice sprawl there from Velez as Out shoots in.
Velez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Out sprawls well. Out wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Velez gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Out tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Velez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Out tries to clinch but Velez is having none of it.
Out lands the left hand.
Velez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Out fails with an attempt to clinch.
Velez looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Velez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Out to the mat! Out manages to get full guard.
Velez is standing up over Out. Out looks to escape but Velez dives into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Velez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Velez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
You can see the frustration on Out's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Velez happy to just control the position for now.
Out taking a bit of punishment here - Velez scoring with strikes.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Velez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Out, who protects the arm well.
Out is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Velez wants to control but Out is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Out wants to get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Velez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Out to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Out wants to stand but Velez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Velez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Out postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Velez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Out, into his guard.

Out is trying to hold Velez in close to prevent damage but Velez has managed to pass into half guard.

Out is staying active underneath Velez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Out has a takedown stuffed.

Out moves in looking to clinch but Velez pushes him off.
Out shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Velez as he avoids it easily.

Cedric Velez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Velez leaves Out with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Velez slaps away a takedown attempt from Out, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Velez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Velez showed some decent athleticism there.
Out is trying to control but can't.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Out is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Out is thwarting Velez's attempts to control the position.
Out blocks the strikes from Velez.

Out is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Velez sees it coming and defends easily.
Velez is looking for a sweep. Out is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Velez is refusing to be controlled, as Out sits in half guard.

Out missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Out has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Velez works to full guard.
Velez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Out. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Out trying to control the position from guard on top but Velez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Out got a little sloppy there for a moment and Velez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Out has managed to get both his arms back between Velez's legs - danger averted.
Out wants to pass the guard but Velez is keeping the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Out looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Velez has his takedown stuffed
and Out counters with a three punch combo that has Velez backing up. Velez nods at Out to acknowledge the strikes.
Velez blocks a head kick by Out.
Velez leaves Out with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Out's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Out duly obliges.
Out throws a head kick that misses.
Out shoots in for a takedown but Velez shows good takedown defense.

Out shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Velez pinned against the cage. Velez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Velez throws a counter combo.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Out moves out of range of the body kick.
Out throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Velez's waist but Velez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Out off to one side.
Velez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Velez fails with a takedown attempt.
Out changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
A punch combination from Out misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Out shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velez darts in looking for a takedown but Out gets double underhooks and turns Velez into the cage.
Tap Out has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cedric Velez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Out throws a jab when Velez was well out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tap Out showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Velez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
