Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Baron Welch (ranked 3564 p4p, 24637 weight class) and Ricardo Diaz (ranked 225 p4p, 282 weight class). Welch comes to the cage accompanied by Red Light. Diaz has chosen Green Goblin Mode as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Baron Welch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Diaz! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Welch swats away the attempt to clinch by Diaz. Diaz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Welch.
Welch tries to keep at a distance but Diaz has taken the fight into the clinch. Diaz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Diaz gets underhooks to prevent Welch's takedown attempt.

Diaz comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
 It looks like Baron Welch has been cut.
Welch turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Welch lands an elbow. Welch controls the position from side control. Welch lands a nice forearm strike. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Welch working the head and body with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Welch is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Welch cracks Diaz with a big elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Welch looks up at the clock and then as Diaz takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Welch smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Welch has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Diaz! Welch lands a couple of good shots and Diaz has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Diaz is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Welch.
Welch lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Diaz hold on?!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Welch landing with strikes. A bit of a pause in the action here. Welch controlling the positon. Welch lands with a hammerfist to the side of Diaz's head. Welch punches Diaz on the ear. Welch lands strikes to the head. Welch punches Diaz on the ear. Diaz is covering up but some of the strikes from Welch are getting through and doing damage.
Welch connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Diaz to escape the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz is trapped and Welch is scoring with shots to the head and body. Welch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Welch lands a shot to the body. Welch has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Diaz's body.
Welch has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Diaz. Welch is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Diaz up.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Welch controlling the positon. Can Diaz hold on?! Welch is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Welch seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Welch scores with strikes from the back.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Welch really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Diaz.
