Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy John (ranked 25250 p4p, 2394 weight class) and Stephen McGarvey (ranked 510 p4p, 296 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen McGarvey!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from John misses.
John on the wrong end of a nice hook.
John ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McGarvey moves away.
McGarvey takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
John lands a jab.
McGarvey just misses with a punch to the body.
We've been told by John's head coaches at Fireball Zone that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
McGarvey misses with a combination
and John counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
McGarvey looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
John looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
John misses with a left hand
and McGarvey counters with a two punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McGarvey comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Donk. McGarvey catches John right on the button with a cross.
John shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
McGarvey lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - John can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from McGarvey and John drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by McGarvey.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stephen McGarvey!
