Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maleko Latu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jugabu Batdorani!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batdorani shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Latu defends it nicely.
Batdorani misses with a takedown attempt - Latu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Latu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Batdorani avoids it really well and circles away.
Batdorani throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Latu was covering up waiting for the punch and Batdorani finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Latu is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Batdorani presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Latu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Batdorani decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Latu's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Jugabu Batdorani has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Maleko Latu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Batdorani changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Latu fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Maleko Latu.
Well Latu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
