Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Greg Gaggenwanker (ranked 2649 p4p, 2856 weight class) and Kyle Calderon (ranked 315 p4p, 339 weight class). Kyle Calderon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Greg Gaggenwanker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Calderon!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Calderon.
Calderon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gaggenwanker moves away.
Calderon throws a head kick that misses

and Gaggenwanker counters with a shoot takedown. Calderon fights it but they end up in guard.
Calderon keeping full guard, as Gaggenwanker tries to pass.
Calderon is trying to keep Gaggenwanker in close.
Gaggenwanker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gaggenwanker trying to control the position from guard on top but Calderon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gaggenwanker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Calderon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gaggenwanker has managed to get both his arms back between Calderon's legs - danger averted.

Gaggenwanker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Calderon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gaggenwanker is one step ahead there.
Gaggenwanker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Calderon is trying to control the position but Gaggenwanker postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Calderon misses with a body kick.
Kyle Calderon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping body kick lands there for Calderon.
A cross from Calderon lands.
Calderon throws a head kick that misses.

Calderon throws a nice outside leg kick.
Gaggenwanker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Gaggenwanker scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Calderon gets back to half guard.
Gaggenwanker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calderon keeps working.
Gaggenwanker is really struggling to control Calderon but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gaggenwanker seems to be working for a kimura but Calderon defends the submission attempt.
Calderon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Calderon keeps trying to improve his position.

Calderon looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Gaggenwanker is looking to advance position but Calderon won't allow it.
Still in half guard, Gaggenwanker seems content to control.
Gaggenwanker is keen to just control but Calderon is a slippery customer.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Gaggenwanker wants to pass to mount but Calderon is defending the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gaggenwanker drops an elbow to the side of Calderon's head.

Calderon actively working from the bottom here.
Gaggenwanker content to control rather than advance.
Gaggenwanker is thwarting Calderon's attempts to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Calderon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gaggenwanker tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Calderon lands a big head kick that sends Gaggenwanker tumbling to the mat! Calderon takes a step backwards and waves Gaggenwanker back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Gaggenwanker is rocked!

It looks like Greg Gaggenwanker has been cut.
Gaggenwanker tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Calderon defends well and Gaggenwanker ends up having to push Calderon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Calderon appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Gaggenwanker avoiding damage as Calderon throws knees to the body.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Calderon dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Greg Gaggenwanker's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Gaggenwanker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Calderon tries to avoid it but Gaggenwanker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Calderon to the ground. Calderon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Calderon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Calderon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gaggenwanker tries to counter by clinching up but Calderon breaks away and moves out of range.

Calderon lands a big head kick that sends Gaggenwanker tumbling to the mat! Calderon takes a step backwards and waves Gaggenwanker back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Oh Gaggenwanker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A head kick misses from Calderon.
Calderon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gaggenwanker manages to avoid it.
Gaggenwanker looks to clinch
and Calderon counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gaggenwanker's knee momentarily.
A head kick by Calderon - that's a beauty! Gaggenwanker is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Calderon can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kyle Calderon!
