Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kouassi Fofano (ranked 1865 p4p, 3807 weight class) and Micael Galvao (ranked 224 p4p, 404 weight class). Micael Galvao will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kouassi Fofano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Micael Galvao!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fofano rushes Galvao and presses him up against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Fofano lands a takedown into guard.
Galvao should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fofano stands and throws Galvao's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Fofano is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Galvao has escaped the position, nice work there.
Galvao tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fofano wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fofano is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Galvao is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Galvao tries to escape but Fofano is in control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fofano looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Fofano is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Galvao knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Fofano tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

You can see the frustration on Galvao's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fofano has hold of Galvao's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Galvao tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fofano cranks the arm and Galvao screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Galvao, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kouassi Fofano!
During a confident post fight interview, Kouassi Fofano thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
