Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Richards!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stan Miertrer!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miertrer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Richards but Richards pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Richards fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Miertrer sprawls well initially but Richards persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Miertrer tries to kick Richards off but Richards keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Richards is thwarting Miertrer's attempts to control the position.
Richards seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miertrer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Richards prevents Miertrer from improving his position.

Richards is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Miertrer trying to hold on to Richards's head to control him but Richards postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Miertrer moves in looking to clinch but Richards pushes him off.

Richards gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Miertrer to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Richards manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Richards is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Miertrer can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Richards really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Miertrer is desperately trying to improve his position but Richards has a good base and remains in mount.

Miertrer trying to control the action but Richards just sinks the hooks in.
Richards is punishing Miertrer with strikes - can he finish him?!

Miertrer breaks Richards's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Richards looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Richards has his foot on Miertrer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miertrer works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miertrer tries to clinch there but Richards circles away.

Richards looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Miertrer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Richards is working away from the top position though.
Miertrer is looking to escape.

Miertrer is positioning himself well to prevent Richards advancing to mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Richards is trying to control the action in half guard but Miertrer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Richards is taking a breather. Miertrer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Miertrer wants to stand and escape but Richards is having none of it.
Miertrer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Richards tries to lock up and control but Miertrer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Miertrer throwing strikes here but Richards is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Richards slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Richards is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Miertrer pulls his head out easily.

Richards is working hard here to advance position.
Miertrer passes to full mount!

Miertrer has isolated one of Richards's arms. Richards looking to fight him off but Miertrer twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
