This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 5 losses; Hoodoo Brown! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 6 losses; Mr Pervitin! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pervitin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Brown feinted with a counter takedown.
Pervitin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brown to the mat! Brown manages to get full guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Brown (0) vs (2) Pervitin Pervitin controls the pace of the fight for a moment. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pervitin working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Brown has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pervitin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Brown had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pervitin defends it easily. Pervitin wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pervitin controls the pace.

 That's five minutes gone in the round. Pervitin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brown swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pervitin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pervitin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Pervitin wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving. Pervitin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brown haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pervitin is stalling in the full guard. Brown can't keep his opponent in guard - Pervitin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pervitin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Pervitin tries to pass to full mount but Brown defends it.

Pervitin is just content to waste time from the top position. Brown takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Pervitin looking to sit in guard and control but Brown gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
