Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ikapoti Puapua (ranked 4323 p4p, 3508 weight class) and Saekenpai Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saekenpai Fairtex is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ikapoti Puapua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saekenpai Fairtex!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Skip Squint and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puapua gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Fairtex gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Puapua regains guard.

Fairtex is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fairtex wants to stand and escape but instead Puapua has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Fairtex is looking to pass into half guard but Puapua pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Puapua is in guard.
Puapua slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A close round but Saekenpai Fairtex will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Puapua has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Fairtex is stalling here. Puapua is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Fairtex seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Puapua has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fairtex tries to control Puapua's body but Puapua pushes him off. Fairtex squirms to his side and now Puapua has his back!

Puapua slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ikapoti Puapua will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Fairtex tightens his grip and picks Puapua up, before dumping him to the ground. Puapua manages to land in guard.

Fairtex drops back, looking for a kneebar! Puapua looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Puapua looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Puapua!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fairtex is trying to escape the mount but Puapua keeps good control and instead manages to take Fairtex's back.
Puapua is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Puapua could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fairtex tries to escape but Puapua has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Puapua just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
I really don't envy Fairtex right now.

Well Puapua has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
