Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yoshiro Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahtava Nopea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akiyama comes into the arena with Time To Say Goodbye blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshiro Akiyama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mahtava Nopea! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akiyama misses the shot to the body. Nopea wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Akiyama uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Nopea has time to react. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Nopea takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Akiyama throws a body punch but Nopea moves out of range. Akiyama stuns Nopea with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Nopea's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Nopea duly obliges.

It looks like Yoshiro Akiyama has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Akiyama fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Akiyama moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Akiyama looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nopea drives through and clinches with Akiyama against the cage.
Akiyama breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Akiyama takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Akiyama throws a leg kick but Nopea sees it coming and checks it nicely. Akiyama tries to bum rush Nopea with a series of wild strikes but Nopea uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nopea throws a right and a left that Akiyama avoids nicely. Nopea takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Akiyama throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Nopea counters with a lovely straight right hand! Akiyama lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A combination from Nopea does no damage. A jab-cross combination lands for Nopea and sends Akiyama crashing to the mat! Nopea follows him down to the mat - Akiyama regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Akiyama is rocked!
Akiyama looking for submissions off his back. Oh Akiyama is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Akiyama is breathing heavily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Nopea scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Nopea working Akiyama over with strikes.
Nopea postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Akiyama to stand up. Akiyama seems to have got his legs back now. Akiyama moves out of range as Nopea strikes. Akiyama feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nopea's calf. The fight stays on the outside here - Nopea looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A punch combination from Akiyama misses. Nopea looks for the body kick but Akiyama saw that one coming. Mahtava Nopea is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nopea takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Good exchange - Akiyama coming out on top. A jab lands there for Akiyama. Nopea steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Akiyama. Akiyama lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nopea circles away quickly and effectively. Nopea slips a jab and a cross from Akiyama.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Akiyama throws a nice inside leg kick. Nopea moves in looking to clinch but Akiyama pushes him off. Akiyama cracks Nopea with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. A right-left combo lands from Akiyama. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A slow jab from Nopea misses its intended target. Akiyama moves out of range of the strikes. Akiyama throws a nice looking combination but Nopea bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nopea takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Nopea stuffs the takedown attempt from Akiyama. Akiyama gets slowly back to his feet. Akiyama takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Nopea misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nopea closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Nopea swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Akiyama counters with a nice uppercut.
Akiyama scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Akiyama scores with punches from side control. Akiyama is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Nopea will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Nopea is not content to let Akiyama control the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
 The referee stands the fighters back up. Yoshiro Akiyama just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Akiyama throws a nice outside leg kick. Akiyama throws a right and a left that Nopea avoids nicely. Akiyama scores with a jab to the body. Akiyama scores with the left hand. Nopea knows he should have avoided that one. Nopea throws a combination that misses
and Akiyama decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nopea's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Akiyama's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Akiyama with a flurry of punches that miss. Nopea is trying to keep Akiyama in close.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Akiyama trying to control the position from guard on top but Nopea is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Akiyama decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nopea, up you get! And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshiro Akiyama dominated that round. The cut man is working on Yoshiro Akiyama's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Akiyama circles away from the clinch attempt and Akiyama counters with a low kick, right behind Nopea 's knee. Yoshiro Akiyama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A punch combination from Nopea misses. Nopea walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nopea misses with a shot to the body enabling Akiyama to counter with a crisp jab. Akiyama lands a jab to Nopea's midsection. Akiyama goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Akiyama drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Nopea is still in real trouble! Can Akiyama finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nopea is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Akiyama is controlling him. Nopea seems to have recovered his senses. Akiyama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Akiyama postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Akiyama decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nopea, up you get! Akiyama dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Akiyama shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Akiyama was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nopea is bucking up trying to escape but Akiyama cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Akiyama looking to control but Nopea is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Akiyama is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nopea has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nopea! Nopea thows a big elbow that misses.
Akiyama is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Akiyama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Akiyama is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nopea is controlling him. Nopea slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Akiyama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nopea gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nopea decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Akiyama, up you get! Nopea closes the distance and lands a one-two. Akiyama shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nopea defends it nicely. Nopea rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Akiyama moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Yoshiro Akiyama is winning the standup battle so far. Nopea wants to clinch up but Akiyama keeps it at a distance. Nopea gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Nopea moves out of range as Akiyama strikes.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama throws a combination. Nopea tries to block but a couple of punches get through. A solid leg kick lands there for Akiyama.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Akiyama controlling the position. Nopea is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Akiyama is controlling the pace.
Akiyama is keen to just control but Nopea is a slippery customer. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshiro Akiyama dominated that second round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A punch combination from Nopea misses. Akiyama cracks a nice hook into Nopea's ribs. Akiyama ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Decent striking displayed by Akiyama there. Akiyama scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nopea doesn't seem bothered though. Akiyama comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Nopea slips a jab and a cross from Akiyama.

Akiyama decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nopea to his feet. Akiyama tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nopea was well out of range. Poor timing from Akiyama.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Akiyama rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nopea moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Akiyama is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nopea can do to turn this around? Nopea scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nopea throws a series of punches but Akiyama moves out of range.
Akiyama throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nopea was covering up waiting for the punch and Akiyama finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Akiyama drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akiyama jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.  That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Akiyama cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Akiyama throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nopea because Akiyama loaded up on that one. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Akiyama trying to control but he's not successful this time. Akiyama lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that's the end of the fight! Yoshiro Akiyama showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Akiyama, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
