Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin Matchmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Westside (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Westside's choice of entrance music: Trick Daddy ft. Lil' Jon & Twista - Let's Go. Warren Westside will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Warren Westside!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matchmann throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Westside is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Matchmann swings for the body but Westside moves out of range.
Matchmann checks a low kick from Westside.
Westside looks to land a combination but Matchmann avoids it well.
Matchmann throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Westside.
Westside fails to land the takedown.
A punch combination from Matchmann misses.
Westside misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Westside is looking to chop away at Matchmann's legs.

Matchmann feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Matchmann might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Matchmann stands and throws Westside's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Westside is looking for a sweep.
Matchmann in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Matchmann tries to move into full mount but can't pass Westside's legs.

Matchmann wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Westside, who protects the arm well.

Matchmann thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Matchmann is breathing heavily.
Westside is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Matchmann's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Westside is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Matchmann pulls his head out easily.
Matchmann prevents Westside from improving his position.

Westside works his way to full guard. Good work.
Matchmann passes Westside's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Westside wants to sweep but Matchmann has passed to side control!

Westside is not content to let Matchmann control the position.
Westside gets back to half guard.
Westside is pressing down on Matchmann's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Westside looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Westside working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matchmann doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matchmann manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Westside has his foot on Matchmann's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matchmann works his way back into a safe position though.

Matchmann stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Westside swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Westside working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matchmann doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Westside is tightening it up a little... Matchmann has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Matchmann reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Matchmann taps out! nice BJJ there by Westside!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Warren Westside!
