Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PJ Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, PJ Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jones shoots for a takedown but Carwin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carwin is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Carwin circles away and we're back to standing.
Carwin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Carwin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carwin's waist but Carwin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Chris Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of PJ Jones.
Carwin tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Carwin pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Carwin wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Carwin is trying to force a seperation but Jones has the dominant position.
Jones tries to pull guard but Carwin holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
Carwin tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage.
Carwin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Carwin lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Carwin tries to break the clinch but Jones is controlling the position.
Jones prevents Carwin from breaking the clinch.
Carwin working hard to break the clinch.
Carwin wants to break free but Jones has control.
Carwin gets through Jones's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Carwin works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Jones is trying to drag Carwin to the mat but Carwin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Carwin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Carwin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jones drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jones looks gassed!
Carwin is trying to force a seperation but Jones has the dominant position.
Carwin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Jones works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Carwin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Carwin is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.
Carwin keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carwin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jones thows a big elbow that misses.

Carwin wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.
Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Carwin wants to get back to his feet but Jones is dominant here and he's now got Carwin's back!

Jones is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Carwin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Carwin for a finish.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carwin wants to get back to his feet.
Jones is hanging on to Carwin's back as he tries to escape.

Jones has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Carwin! Can he survive? No! He's out! Jones gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
