PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bon Fotoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Ratcliffe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fotoni kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Tohtori Krabolan Telekineettinen Testilaboratorio. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ratcliffe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ratcliffe showed some decent athleticism there.
Ratcliffe seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Fotoni tries to kick Ratcliffe off but Ratcliffe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Fotoni is looking for a sweep. Ratcliffe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fotoni kicks Ratcliffe off and gets back to his feet.

Ratcliffe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fotoni walks away with a smile on his face. Ratcliffe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Fotoni breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ratcliffe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ratcliffe tries to keep at a distance but Fotoni has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fotoni throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ratcliffe escapes and throws Fotoni's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fotoni has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ratcliffe is proving hard to escape from.

Fotoni has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ratcliffe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fotoni is taking a breather. Ratcliffe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Fotoni's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Cory Ratcliffe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Fotoni has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
