Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norm Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Gordon Brown has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Gordon Brown seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Brown.
Bates avoids a punch combination nicely.
Brown moves away from the strike by Bates.
Bates throws a front kick aimed at Brown's knee but Brown avoids it well.
Bates fails with an attempt to clinch.
A jab from Bates finds it's way through Brown's defenses.
Bates displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brown throws out the jab.
Bates shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brown's guard.
Brown is looking to stand up but Bates isn't so interested in that idea.
Brown is working an open guard so Bates takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Brown misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bates shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brown sprawls well. Brown wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bates gets slowly back to his feet.
Bates closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brown to the mat! Brown manages to get full guard.

Bates prevents Brown from getting back to his feet.
Brown is wriggling around but Bates manages to pass to half guard.
Brown is trying to stand back up but Bates is controlling him
Brown is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bates scores with a couple of nice shots.

Brown wants to get back to his feet.
Bates seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Brown taking some punishment here, with Bates in his half guard.
Brown pushes Bates off and gets back to his feet.
Brown looks to score with a jab to the body but Bates is just out of range.

Bates closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brown circles away.
Norm Bates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bates looks gassed!
Bates shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brown defends it nicely.
Gordon Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Norm Bates.
Bates avoids the body shot from Brown.

Whack! Brown lands a heavy head kick that drops Bates. The ref tackles Brown to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Bates was done.
