Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Paul Potts! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rowan Clowsley! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potts listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Clowsley fails with an attempt to clinch.
Potts throws a nice looking combination but Clowsley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Potts shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Clowsley is trying to defend but Potts finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Potts trying to control from half guard but Clowsley is working away. Potts passes to full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Potts is working for a guillotine from mount but Clowsley frees his head quite easily.
Clowsley regains half guard. Potts working the head and body with strikes. Clowsley is refusing to be controlled, as Potts sits in half guard. Potts is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Clowsley!
That's one minute gone in the round. Clowsley really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Potts can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Clowsley is looking to escape. Clowsley defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Potts. Potts wants to control the pace but Clowsley is squirming around nicely. Clowsley tries to reverse the position but Potts maintains control. Clowsley is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Potts is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Clowsley can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Potts working for a submission but Clowsley is keeping him at bay.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Potts looking for a guillotine from mount but Clowsley is having none of it. Potts has isolated one of Clowsley's arms. Clowsley looking to fight him off but Potts twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
