The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potts shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Clowsley is trying to defend but Potts finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Potts is working for a guillotine from mount but Clowsley frees his head quite easily.

Clowsley is refusing to be controlled, as Potts sits in half guard.

Clowsley defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Potts.
Potts wants to control the pace but Clowsley is squirming around nicely.
Clowsley tries to reverse the position but Potts maintains control.
Clowsley is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Potts is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Clowsley can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Potts working for a submission but Clowsley is keeping him at bay.
