Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diogo Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Narwhal Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Narwhal Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diogo Araujo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Narwhal Jones!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.

Araujo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Araujo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Araujo tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Araujo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Araujo manages to avoid it.
Araujo dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Araujo's head and hops out.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Araujo throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily.
Jones throws a head kick but Araujo moves out of range.
Jones throws a body punch but Araujo moves out of range.

Araujo is not content to let Jones control the position.
Araujo is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.

Jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Araujo some visible discomfort.

Araujo throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Araujo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Araujo manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Araujo's guard.

Araujo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Jones sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Narwhal Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jones is working for a guillotine from mount but Araujo frees his head quite easily.

Araujo tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones has control of Araujo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Araujo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Narwhal Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jones is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Araujo!

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Araujo is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.

Jones is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Jones!
