Goldstein comes to the cage accompanied by Nothing to Prove by H2O. Masahura Yakisoba has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sol Goldstein's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sol Goldstein!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Masahura Yakisoba!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldstein moves in looking to clinch but Yakisoba pushes him off.
Goldstein will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sol Goldstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goldstein slips a jab and a cross from Yakisoba.
Yakisoba throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Goldstein shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yakisoba is trying to defend but Goldstein finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Masahura Yakisoba is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Goldstein darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Yakisoba has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Goldstein is working away from the top position though.

Yakisoba regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Goldstein.

Yakisoba is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Goldstein is controlling him.

Goldstein drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yakisoba manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goldstein has Yakisoba in his guard.
Yakisoba stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldstein swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Goldstein lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yakisoba!

Goldstein moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Yakisoba has worked his arm free - good work by Yakisoba!
Yakisoba tries to buck Goldstein off but Goldstein is having none of it.
The ground and pound from Goldstein seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Goldstein throwing strikes but Yakisoba manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Goldstein sneaks back into half guard.
Goldstein is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sol Goldstein dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Yakisoba fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Yakisoba keeps the fight on the outside.
Yakisoba scores with a punch to the head.
Goldstein has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Yakisoba scores with a decent looking hook.
Goldstein tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Yakisoba cracks a nice hook into Goldstein's ribs.
Goldstein tries to close the distance and clinch but Yakisoba swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Goldstein fails with a takedown attempt.
Goldstein has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Goldstein there as he acknowledges the shot.

Goldstein throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Yakisoba counters with a nice uppercut.
Yakisoba throws a leg kick

and Goldstein counters with a shoot takedown. Yakisoba fights it but they end up in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Yakisoba holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Goldstein drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yakisoba looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yakisoba looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yakisoba!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yakisoba staying calm.

Yakisoba decides to stand back up. Yakisoba steps back and let's Goldstein get back to his feet.
Goldstein misses with a takedown
letting Yakisoba counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sol Goldstein. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yakisoba connects with a crisp jab.
Yakisoba changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Yakisoba gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Goldstein to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Yakisoba wants to stand up but Goldstein is controlling him.
Goldstein wants to pass the guard but Yakisoba is keeping the position.
Yakisoba bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Goldstein's guard.

Goldstein looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Yakisoba has picked Goldstein up and slammed him! Goldstein can't keep hold of the triangle and Yakisoba manages to pass to side control!

Goldstein doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yakisoba cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sol Goldstein is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Goldstein takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Yakisoba scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Yakisoba throws a series of strikes that have Goldstein backpedaling.
Yakisoba scores with a three punch combo!
Yakisoba slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Yakisoba thuds his right hand into Goldstein's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Goldstein tries for a takedown but Yakisoba circles away easily
and Yakisoba counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Yakisoba lands a jab to the nose.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Yakisoba counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Oh Goldstein is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yakisoba uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Yakisoba lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Goldstein falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Masahura Yakisoba! Masahura Yakisoba retains his bantamweight title!
