Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Blair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jermaine Williams!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blair shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Blair looks to score with a jab to the body but Williams is just out of range.
Williams uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Blair.
Nice defenses there by Williams.
Blair fails with the takedown.

Blair has closed the distance and engaged Williams in a clinch.
Blair tries for a takedown but Williams manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Blair. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams wants a takedown but no success here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blair jumps into guard, dragging Williams to the mat.

Blair had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Williams is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Blair Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Williams's back instead.
Blair is breathing heavily.
Blair is not going to allow Williams to sit and survive in this position.
Williams's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Blair's hands.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jermaine Williams just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Blair tries to clinch but Williams moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Blair or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams which made him look bad.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blair sprawls well. Blair wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.
Blair doesn't manage to clinch there - Williams circles away.

Williams looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Williams in particular looking to stall.
Williams is looking to take a break and control but Blair is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

so Williams counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Blair wants to sweep but no luck.
Williams controlling from the top position.
Blair tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Williams controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Williams pushes down on Blair's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Williams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Blair is positioning himself well to prevent Williams advancing to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Blair looks to clinch

and Williams counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Williams.
Williams tries to pull guard but Blair holds him up against the cage and eventually Williams drops back down to his feet.
Williams is trying to drag Blair to the mat but Blair just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Blair controlling the action here for a moment.

Blair's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Williams gets underhooks to prevent Blair's takedown attempt.
Blair tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Blair will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Williams up against the cage.
Williams goes for a takedown in the clinch but Blair prevents it.
Eric Blair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jermaine Williams.
Williams has Blair pressed against the cage, preventing Blair from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Williams is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Blair frees his head nicely. Oh but Williams has switched to an armbar! Blair is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
