Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Cabreros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Caleb Cabreros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Knight!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight misses with a head kick.
Caleb Cabreros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cabreros wants to clinch up but Knight keeps it at a distance.
Knight tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cabreros swats him away and circles back towards the center.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Knight.
Cabreros gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Knight counters with a nice leg kick.
No luck for Cabreros with that takedown attempt.
Cabreros avoids the head kick by Knight.

Knight looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cabreros keeping control of the position.

Knight is looking to take a break and control but Cabreros is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cabreros tries to roll over but Knight keeps him under control.

Knight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cabreros does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Knight wants to free his trapped foot but Cabreros is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Knight decides to stand up.
Cabreros throws a body punch but Knight moves out of range.
Knight moves out of range as Cabreros throws a body kick.
Cabreros throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Knight sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Knight gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Knight trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Cabreros prevents Knight from getting back to his feet.

Cabreros postures up.
Cabreros passes into half guard.
Cabreros sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Knight defending well though.
Cabreros controlling the pace.
Knight wants to get back to his feet.
Cabreros wants to lay and pray for a moment but Knight keeps working.

Knight looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Cabreros is looking for a kimura but Knight is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cabreros to get the leverage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knight is staying active underneath Cabreros, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Cabreros looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cabreros is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Knight wants to clinch up but Cabreros keeps it at a distance.
Knight misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Knight throws a body punch but Cabreros moves out of range.
Cabreros throws a body punch but Knight moves out of range.
Knight tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cabreros paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Knight tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cabreros counters with a stiff right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Knight throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cabreros counters with a nice double leg into side control. Knight won't be happy with that.
Cabreros postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cabreros just content to control the position.
Knight tries to improve position but can't.
Knight wants to control but Cabreros postures up.
Knight is not content to let Cabreros control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knight is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cabreros off and has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Caleb Cabreros will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Knight.

and Knight counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Cabreros tries to roll over but Knight keeps him under control.
Knight stalling.

Knight gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Cabreros shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Knight sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Knight is doing well to control the position and prevent Cabreros from advancing to side control.

Knight has hold of Cabreros's hands but Cabreros slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Knight is holding on to half guard well.
Knight wants to improve his position but Cabreros is controlling well.

Cabreros throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Knight makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Knight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cabreros advances to half guard.
Cabreros wants to take a breather but Knight is having none of it.
Knight won't allow Cabreros to pass to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cabreros seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knight does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cabreros stops Knight from getting back to his feet.
Cabreros is trying to control. Knight wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cabreros tries to pass the half guard into mount. Knight knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Knight gets full guard.

Knight pushes Cabreros off and gets back to his feet.
Cabreros looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cabreros misses with a takedown
enabling Knight to counter with a crisp jab.
Knight throws a nice outside leg kick.
Knight looks to score with a jab to the body but Cabreros is just out of range.

Knight throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Cabreros stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Knight follows into mount!


Cabreros is rocked!


It looks like Caleb Cabreros has been cut.
Cabreros tries to control Knight's body but Knight pushes him off. Cabreros squirms to his side and now Knight has his back!
Oh Cabreros is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Knight throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Knight slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Cabreros seems to have got his legs back now.
Knight missing with punches from the back.
Cabreros turns into Knight and is now in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knight keeping moving, preventing Cabreros from controlling successfully.
Cabreros won't allow Knight to get back to his feet.
Knight is trying to keep Cabreros in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Knight lands a nice hook to Cabreros's body. Cabreros takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Knight clinches.
Knight with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Knight is working for takedown but Cabreros is calmly controlling the position for now.
Cabreros fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Knight has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cabreros uses from the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ted Knight showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Knight is looking to clinch.
Cabreros tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Knight swivels and escapes.
Nice body punch from Knight.
Knight darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Knight moves into the clinch successfully.
Knees in the clinch landing for Knight.
Knight connects with a knee to the head.

Knight breaks the clinch.
Cabreros swats away the attempt to clinch by Knight.
Cabreros closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Knight rushes Cabreros and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Knight has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cabreros is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Cabreros tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Knight's elbow.
Knight with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Knight manages to break the clinch.
Ted Knight is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cabreros fails with a takedown attempt.
Knight moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Knight connects with a solid leg kick.
Good shot there by Knight.

Knight moves into the clinch.
Knight lands a knee to the head.
Cabreros misses with the head strike.
Cabreros tries a body shot but Knight blocks it.
Knight scores a nice knee to the body.

Knight pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cabreros looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caleb Cabreros. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knight digs a good body shot into Cabreros's ribs.
Knight throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Knight tries to clinch there but Cabreros circles away.

Cabreros is trying to drag Knight to the mat but Knight just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Knight goes for a takedown attempt but Cabreros pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Cabreros walks into a left hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Knight throws a left that rocks Cabreros and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Knight dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Cabreros regain composure!

Knight stands up and beckons Cabreros to his feet.
Knight buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Knight throws a nice outside leg kick.
Cabreros moves out of range of the body kick from Knight.

Knight closes the distance and clinches.
Knight tries to land a knee to the head but Cabreros blocks with his arms.
Cabreros misses with a hook to the ribs.
Knees to the body from Knight.

Knight breaks from the clinch.
Cabreros closes the distance but Knight moves to the side

and Knight counters by moving into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knight can't get the takedown.
Cabreros tries a body shot but Knight blocks it.
Knight lands a knee to the body.

Knight leaning his opponent against the cage.
Cabreros is pressed up against the cage. Knight has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cabreros down to the mat. Cabreros avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Cabreros changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Knight looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cabreros is trying to ground and pound but Knight uses the momentary lack of control by Cabreros to regain half guard.
Knight makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Knight.
Knight is trying to keep Cabreros in close.
Ted Knight has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cabreros stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Knight swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Knight can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cabreros controls the pace.
Cabreros trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom.
Knight lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cabreros!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cabreros can't escape the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ted Knight comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Knight has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
