PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benito Camelas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanz Stinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Benito Camelas has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Benito Camelas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Hanz Stinger!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Camelas looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Stinger has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Camelas is trying to keep an underhook but Stinger manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Camelas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stinger on the ground.
Stinger wants to pass the guard but Camelas is defending well.
Camelas is looking to get back to is feet but Stinger passes into side control.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hanz Stinger just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Stinger fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Camelas sprawls well initially but Stinger persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Camelas is defending against the submission attempts here by Stinger.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Camelas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stinger is working away from the top position though.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Stinger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Camelas tries to avoid it but Stinger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Camelas to the ground. Camelas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Stinger fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Camelas, pushing him back against the cage.

Camelas throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Stinger blocks it with crossed arms.

Stinger is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Camelas can't fight it off and eventually Stinger manages to take the fight to the floor. Camelas looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Stinger is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Stinger has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Stinger works his foot free and advances to mount.
Camelas tries to hold on but Stinger postures up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stinger tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hanz Stinger just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Stinger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Stinger controls the position from side control.
Stinger postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Camelas is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Camelas sneaks back into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hanz Stinger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


A combination from Camelas does no damage.
Stinger tries to score a power double leg takedown but Camelas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stinger somewhat.

Stinger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Camelas pushes Stinger off looking to stand but Stinger dives back in and keeps control.
Well, if Stinger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Stinger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Camelas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Stinger decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Camelas's guard.

and Camelas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stinger won't be happy with that.

Stinger is trying to control Camelas's posture but Camelas avoids it.

Stinger is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Camelas off and has taken his back!

Hanz Stinger is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hanz Stinger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Stinger winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
