Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Irwin Estevez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricardo Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Estevez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kelly tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kelly throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Estevez keeps the fight on the outside.

Kelly closes the distance and clinches.

Estevez works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Kelly wants to stand up but Estevez is controlling him.
Estevez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Estevez sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Estevez stops Kelly from standing up.
Estevez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Estevez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kelly utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Estevez tries to free his leg and advance position but Kelly is retaining full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Estevez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kelly was covering up waiting for the punch and Estevez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelly keeping full guard, as Estevez tries to pass.
Estevez is working hard here to advance position.
Estevez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Estevez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kelly swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Estevez stops Kelly from standing up.

Estevez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Estevez throwing strikes from guard but Kelly blocks nicely.
Estevez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Estevez moves in looking to clinch but Kelly pushes him off.
Kelly moves out of range of the body kick from Estevez.

Estevez looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Kelly wants to stand and escape but Estevez is having none of it.

Estevez throws a big right hand that misses.
Estevez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Estevez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kelly is trying to keep Estevez in close.
Estevez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kelly is working to avoid the ground and pound but Estevez connects with a decent elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Estevez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Estevez working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Kelly tries to buck Estevez off but Estevez is having none of it.
Kelly looks gassed!

Estevez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kelly knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Estevez has hold of Kelly's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kelly seems comfortable defending it but Estevez has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kelly is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kelly is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Estevez couldn't care less - he's delighted!
