And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sandro Da Costa!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miller wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Da Costa, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Da Costa's face as Miller controls the position.

Miller goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Da Costa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Miller's guard! Nice work there by Da Costa!

Da Costa stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Da Costa lands a really nice looking cross but Miller seems unphased.

Miller has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Da Costa regains guard immediately.

Miller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Miller perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Andrew Miller just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Da Costa wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Da Costa has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrew Miller will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Da Costa's corner calls for a 1-2. Da Costa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Miller looks for a takedown but Da Costa sprawls well.

Miller closes the distance and clinches up with Da Costa, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes Da Costa against the cage but Da Costa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Miller looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Da Costa tries to clinch but Miller moves out of range.
Miller closes the distance and clinches up with Da Costa, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes Da Costa against the cage but Da Costa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Da Costa lands a head kick that stumbles Miller and the fighters go to the mat.


Miller is rocked!
Da Costa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Miller is proving hard to escape from.
Oh Miller is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Da Costa gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Da Costa Rushes Miller and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Miller is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Da Costa Piles on the pressure and Miller crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sandro Da Costa!
